Foot Anstey: Non-compete clauses - the most powerful weapon for employers

Non-competition clauses have been described as "the most powerful weapon in the employer's armoury". Such clauses are commonly used when advisers sell their businesses and often form the basis of disputes between the buyer and the seller. 

Matthew Huddleson, Head of Employment, recently published an article in Money Marketing that explores this concept and shows that in some cases such clauses will be enforced by the courts and also considers the application of the case to employer relationships with advisers.
