LV= announces important changes to its Critical Illness cover

The changes include an increase in the number of conditions and partial payments covered, and an improvement to a number of definitions for existing conditions.

LV= now offers cover for 64 conditions in total with 19 ABI+ definitions and 20 partial payments.

Key new benefits include:

  •     6 enhanced existing definitions including the most claimed for conditions; cancer, heart attack, multiple sclerosis, stroke and Parkinson’s disease.
  •     A full payment condition for all clinically diagnosed heart attacks.
  •     An extended definition for multiple sclerosis; which means an earlier payment on evidence of two or more attacks of impaired motor or sensory function.
  •     Extended children’s cover up to age 21. And with no minimum age, conditions that existed at birth are now also covered (congenital conditions).
  •     An increase in the number of partial payment definitions and the amount paid. Every partial payment now pays up to a maximum of £12,500 or £25,000.
