L&G: A guide to being a trustee

Efficiency is doing things right for your clients and, where appropriate, that should mean placing their policies in trust. The benefits of doing this are clear:

  • it can help ensure that the right people receive the proceeds of any policy, and that they are paid out quickly
  • it may help with estate planning
  • it can protect their policies from being re-broked.

To help you and your clients with this process we have produced a new guide called Your Trust Choices (W12720) which includes an explanation of each trust. 

Effectiveness is doing the right things for your clients; for example, making sure that your clients' trustees understand the arrangement and their duties. 

To help your clients, we've produced a new Guide To Being A Trustee (W13820).  Using the new guide could also be an opportunity for you to establish new client relationships by having a discussion with the trustees.
