Bento for One - All about the Longstop

Panacea have teamed up with Thought Leadership Live to produce free thought provoking webcasts to support and educate IFA's, by way of a new lunchtime series called ‘Bento for One’.

The last ‘Bento for One’ was on Friday 20th April 2012 at 1pm on the Longstop.

Like other businesses and professions, incorporated or not, financial advisers enjoyed the protection of a 15 year longstop by section 14(b) of the Limitation Act 1980.  This was until the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA) came into force on 1 December 2001 leading to the FSA removing its protection for regulated firms on the 18th September 2003.

For those who trade and are blissfully unaware of this very major commercial time bomb placed in all IFAs future road map, yes this will affect you!

This Thought Leadership session attempted to shine some light on a very complicated and divisive piece of regulatory skulduggery.
