The Silent Bill

No, I am not surprised as the coverage has been minimal. This bill should be the best opportunity to reform the UK’s FS Regulation in the last 20 years and yet the Treasury is doing everything in its power to make the minimum of change. Hence the study in silence.

The need for a new bill has been created by Brexit. An event in democracy which makes both the Treasury and FCA spit with anger. They have been selling the Bill as a purely technical document and that no one should be expecting structural change. Why not after 20 years?

The apathy among advisers regarding the new FS Bill is disgraceful. Plus, of course, the Treasury and the TSC Secretariat are making sure that no-one who may upset their apple cart can get in front of the TSC.
