Huge pressure from FCA on directly authorised advisers
It was highlighted last week that “Directly authorised IFAs have questioned the regulatory approach to vulnerability", claiming they themselves are under growing pressure and stress from the Financial Conduct Authority and from the rising cost of living”.
As usual in the eyes of smaller IFAs, the FCA could be seen as bayonetting the wounded as far as support in very difficult times is delivered. IFA Richard Bishop stated that “The FCA is not taking into account that small IFAs, (especially single adviser firms of which there are many) are subject to all the drivers of vulnerability the firm's clients may suffer from.
With this in mind we thought a snapshot poll was in order to understand Adviser sentiment regarding how they see the FCA actions as being supportive or not?
