Orbis: What future are you preparing for?

Suddenly, hope. The Economist’s headline on the global impact of a vaccine applies equally well to value shares. Spurred by the vaccine news, this month value stocks delivered their best returns since the 1970s (without making much of a dent in their 10+ year rut of underperformance).

While we have seen false dawns before, a vaccine could make the years ahead very different to the one we’re living through now. Yet worryingly, investors seem positioned for a repeat of 2020.
