Combining digital power with a human touch
All our members and their immediate family have access to our HealthWise app giving them access to health and wellbeing services, bespoke to their policy. The services available include GP-on-demand, a second medical opinion, physiotherapy^, mental health support^, lifestyle-coaching* and nutritional advice*.
The app offers members a digital experience with all the convenience that technology brings; speed and accessibility complemented by the personal and trustworthy benefits that come from a human touch.
How does it work?
Once a member has downloaded and registered to use the app, they can book an appointment with a GP or health specialist at a time that suits them. What’s more, members have the option to choose their specialist, which is especially important for individuals who feel more comfortable discussing their concerns with a specific gender. Appointments can take place via video or telephone-call.
During this initial consultation, the member and treating specialist will discuss the next appropriate action. Depending on the service used, advice may be given on how to manage their condition, or a tailored treatment plan may be prescribed, recommending the next stage of treatment or support.
A digital service with a human connection
When it comes to the important ‘stuff’ such as people’s health and wellbeing, we understand the value of speaking to a real person to gain trusted advice. We also understand that people are busy so need to access services fast and at a time that suits them.
Using digital services such as video-calls and consultations or simply talking over the phone means our members can talk to an expert at their own convenience.
Whether it’s coughs and colds, musculoskeletal injuries, mental health conditions, exercise or dietary advice we’re providing members with timely support for a wider range of health and wellbeing concerns than ever before.
An appetite for digital services
The pace of technological change and the ongoing pressures placed on the NHS, has led to many people looking at alternative ways of managing their health and wellbeing and our members are no different.
Since its launch, HealthWise has highlighted a growing appetite for digital healthcare with our members. All support services are seeing regular usage with 80% of services being accessed via the app.
The introduction of HealthWise has changed the way we support our members. Whilst face-to-face services are offered where appropriate, many are now receiving treatment digitally.
To date 84% of mental health and 50% of physiotherapy treatments have been conducted digitally, meaning members are able to receive valuable support without having to travel to receive treatment.
This also highlights the flexibility that digital services provide; something which can be invaluable when trying to juggle our personal healthcare with the demands of everyday life. It also means that members can receive treatment quickly and in a way that suits them – something that could help prevent a manageable health concern from turning into something more serious.
HealthWise allows us to offer a convenient and personal member benefits service and we’re delighted that our members are choosing to use it to help make positive changes to their health and wellbeing.
