Prudential: Two webinars. Lots of reasons to talk to your clients

Prudential are running two different webinars on Thursday 17 May 2018, designed to highlight opportunities for you to discuss with your clients. Here’s what you can expect from both sessions. 

Bond benefits and Assignment – 9am

Presented by George Pullar, Business Development Manager, and Liz Hardie, Technical Specialist. 

George will start by looking at the key benefits of using investment bonds, with a focus on education funding and IHT planning. Following on from George, Liz will take an in-depth look at Assignment through the use of a case study. 

The learning objectives for this session are: 

  • Understand key considerations when planning educational funding
  • Understand lump sum IHT planning opportunities 
  • Describe the different methods of assigning a bond by way of a gift 
  • Discuss the tax considerations of assignment by way of a gift
  • Explain the options of the new owner after an assignment of a bond has taken place      

 9am session

Cascading wealth – opportunities to explore – 11am and 2pm 

Presented by Stan Russell, Senior Business Development Manager, and George Pullar, Business Development Manager. 

Stan will begin by looking at the IHT implications if a client makes a transfer and dies within two years. George will then go on to look at some of the key challenges faced when moving into decumulation and looking to support a sustainable income and the use of ISAs as part of the strategy.

The learning objectives for this session are: 

  • Understand the IHT implications of death within two years of a transfer
  • Understand the opportunities in the ISA marketplace
  • Understand the challenges and risks faced by an investor who is either moving from accumulation to decumulation or looking to support a sustainable income.
