Advisertech - Mastering email

Hi all, and welcome to Month 14 here on Advisertech. This month we’ll be looking at Mastering Email Marketing. As paradoxical as it might seem, email is still an incredibly effective means – some would say the most effective means – of online marketing.

The inbox is still hallowed ground, despite the abuse it has taken thanks to spam and even the endless newsletters that we did once subscribe to. To be allowed into that place is an honour, not to be taken lightly. If you can get into someone’s inbox, you’re a big step closer to them becoming a customer.

Here’s what’s coming up in Month 14:

Masterclass with Jon Pittham: Jon is a director of ClientsFirst UK, a full-service digital marketing agency. One of their offerings is MailFirst, so Jon is well qualified to talk about what works and what doesn’t work in email marketing. Again, I’ve shifted the Masterclass to week one, as it sets the tone for the rest of the month.

Inside Track: As usual, I’ll be showing you my own efforts with email marketing, such as they are, and what I have learned so far. I’m very much at the start of my journey with this, so I’ll be talking about what is next for me too.

Resource Review: I’ll be rounding up the best email services out there, and some great resources for helping you take your own email marketing efforts further.

Live Q&A Call: This will be the usual recorded live call where I field your questions and we learn from each other.

One of the most common assumptions people make is this: “I’ll be happy when…” I’ll be happy when I can retire. I’ll be happy when the mortgage is paid off. I’ll be happy when I have enough money. I’ll be happy when I can work less. I’ll be happy when I’ve achieved financial freedom. At first glance, these seem like perfectly reasonable goals. In fact, many of them are exactly the kinds of goals financial planners help clients work towards every day.
