How to start a financial planning conversation

There still seems to be a substantial number of advisers and firms that kick off a client conversation with some version of ‘Let me tell you about me (my firm, my process, etc)’. The problem with this is not that a client does not want to know this information. Maybe they do or maybe they don’t.

You gov: How has the financial services industry responded to Consumer Duty

During extensive consultation with clients over the last couple of years connected to consumer duty, it became clear that a firm’s assessment of how well they were doing when it came to consumer duty was principally driven by an internal assessment of what they were doing and how this aligned to the core principles of consumer duty. It is against this context that we concluded that there was a lack of consumer feedback in terms of how well firms were doing when it came to consumer duty and that this gap was something that YouGov was very well positioned to fill.

Are quoted IFA salaries real? This is a question we're asked every time one of our salary surveys hits the press. While many people recognise that the market for financial planners has been rising over the years, plenty of cynics still think recruitment companies make it up. While this will vary by region, we can also give you some information on that. The highest-paying region is London, where the basic salary is £91,250, and the total earnings are £108,950.
